Wall Panel in Hotel Lobbies

  • Published: Oct 5, 2026

Walk into a hotel lobby and within a few seconds you decide: is this luxurious, cosy, modern, established? The lobby's walls play a decisive role in forming that first impression. Wall panel in hotel lobbies is a fast, effective way to give a space the character it's meant to convey.

Behind the reception desk: the lobby's focal point

When a guest enters the lobby, their eyes go to reception first. That's why the wall behind the desk is the lobby's most important surface. On this wall:

  • the hotel logo can be applied to the panel using metal lettering,
  • hidden lighting placed above and below the panel highlights both the texture and the logo together,
  • colour harmony should be established between the panel and the desk material (wood, marble, metal).

With its layered rock texture, Canyon, and the coarse-stone character of Rocc, both create a strong backdrop behind reception.

Waiting and seating areas

Areas in the lobby where guests sit, wait or meet should feel more relaxed and cosy than the reception area. Using a calmer texture here — such as the linear Rayas or a wood-look panel — sets this area apart from reception and gives guests a sense of rest.

Tall-ceilinged lobbies

In lobbies with a gallery void or double-height ceilings, covering the entire wall in panel emphasises the grandeur of the space. On tall walls, medium- to large-scale textures are preferable so the texture still reads from a distance. Walls like this create a striking composition together with vertical light lines and large-scale chandeliers.

Light: the lobby's soul

Light in a lobby changes throughout the day. Light pouring in through large windows during the day looks different from the artificial lighting used in the evening, and the wall reflects that shift. Stone texture is the surface that benefits most from this change. Hidden LED lines washing the wall from above and below give the lobby a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the evening. Lobbies beyond hotels

The same principles apply to residence entrances, office-tower lobbies, and hospital or clinic waiting areas. In our Tanfer Health & Aesthetic project in the project gallery, you can see how stone panel creates a reassuring character in the entrance areas of a health and aesthetics centre.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a lobby renovation disrupt the hotel?

Panel installation takes far less time than laying stone. A work schedule can be planned together with our team to minimise disruption to the lobby's use.

Can a logo be applied onto the panel?

Yes, logo and signage elements can be fitted to the panel surface with the right mounting details. Planning the fixing points in advance is recommended.

What information do you need for a lobby project?

Wall measurements, lobby photos and, if available, architectural drawings are enough. You can send these through our quote form.
